A Bachelor of Fashion and Apparel Design (BFAD) is a full time four-year degree program under AKTU Lucknow. In the four year program student will explore variety of horizons of fashion industry. It includes study of drawing and sketching, elements and principles of design, history of costumes, study of fashion, pattern making, CAD, garment construction, merchandising, surface design, presentation and computer skills. The objective of the program is to emphasize innovation and creativity in fashion design while providing students the technical knowledge which is necessary for a successful entry into the fashion industry.
During the four year, the students are introduced to the basic skills in sewing, flat pattern drafting and illustration. Field trips to exhibitions, museums and factories help to enrich the knowledge as well as skills. Special live projects with industries and fashion houses under specialized guidance of industry experts also added values to our student’s skill and confidence.
